WCHF’s WebbCast series: a fresh approach to Laredo’s heritage

by Valerie Gonzalez

The Webb County Heritage Foundation (WCHF) is turning heads with the launch of WebbCast, a dynamic digital series designed to celebrate local history, culture, and community highlights in an engaging, accessible format. This innovative project is the culmination of the vision and creativity of WCHF Director of Operations Andrea Ordóñez; the work of interns Alisa Peña and Mariela Pineda; myself as content creator; and WCHF staffer Leo Ordóñez who briefly delivers historic facts at the conclusion of the segment.

Under the guidance of Andrea Ordóñez, whose passion for Laredo’s past and vision for its future infuse every post, WebbCast embodies innovation and connection. Her leadership is grounded in a deep commitment to the community, ensuring that each episode resonates with viewers while honoring the city’s rich history.

Edwardo “Lalo” García, brings meticulous attention to detail and an extraordinary ability to juggle an array of responsibilities with precision. From developing content and coordinating projects to ensure every story is told with heart and accuracy, García’s professional approach to communication is part of each WebbCast.

WebbCast is not just a series, but a celebration of the city’s people, culture, and stories. The team’s combined energy and passion ensure that Laredo’s heritage is not only preserved but also experienced in ways that inspire pride and curiosity in audiences of all ages.

WebbCast is sponsored by Webb County, the City of Laredo, and the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Foundation.
