Laredo Little Theatre (LLT) has announced that it is in auditions for its Fall production of The Play That Goes Wrong, which will be directed by Ray Cantu. Auditions will be held on Friday, August 15, and Saturday, August 16, at 6:00 p.m. at the Laredo Little Theatre, at 4802 Thomas Ave.
Due to the play’s mature comedic content, auditions are open to performers and backstage crew ages 17 and above. Performers who are confident and comfortable with physical comedy and fast-paced humor are encouraged to audition.
This suspenseful murder mystery, originally written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields, is a witty masterpiece of malfunction that unravels as the hapless Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society attempts to stage a performance for a murder mystery. As the title suggests, however, a plethora of disasters ransacks the entire production of actors and crew during their attempt to close for a final curtain call.
Ultimately, everything that could go wrong does go wrong, leading to a comedic yet chaotic experience for the audience to enjoy. This global laugh-out-loud sensation is a must-see for those who enjoy the slapstick comedy of Monty Python and the overall wackiness of what theater can be.
Ticket information for the Oct. 16 – 26 run will be announced at a future date.
