Ricardo Segovia and Lizette Montiel of Los Olvidados Coffee Shoppe and Gallery have set their sights on bringing Sagrado Café & Bistro at Matamoros and Flores to life in a beautiful old 1950s retro building that was once a gas station and more recently a bus station.
No opening date has been set, as they are in the planning stages for an initial drive- through operation for hot and cold coffees and teas, frappes, aguas frescas, and a menu that will serve many Laredoans who live and work downtown.

Ricardo Segovia was born in Laredo and raised in Mexico City. He has dedicated over two decades of his life to photography and has been a photojournalist with several Southwestern publications and the Associated Press. He has received awards and distinctions for his photojournalistic work. The photos he has taken of the traditional ways of the indigenous people of Mexico have been showcased in numerous venues. His style of photography is anthropological, ranging from casual scenic to upfront and intimate representations of ways of life.

Lizette Montiel, a multi-disciplinary artist, performer and producer of electronic music as Rizu X, offers live and DJ set performances. She is an accomplished mixed media and audiovisual artist. Lizette is the co-founder and board member of the non-profit Laredo Film Society, which seeks to educate, empower and exhibit film and media arts, aiming to cultivate a love for cinema in Laredo and the South Texas community.
